Update: Pickleball/Basketball Courts Project

From the desk of Mayor Mike Rick:

For the past few years, I have had many people ask me if the Village could provide pickleball courts for our residents. Knowing that the demand was high for pickleball courts, and also having existing basketball and tennis courts at our Lions Community Park that were sorely in need of renovations, I began to search for potential grants to help the Village resolve those two issues. I was able to identify the Community Development Block Grant as a grant source that could help us in this endeavor. The Village applied for the grant and was awarded $150,000 to help with tearing down the old courts and replacing them with four pickleball courts, two basketball courts, and a tennis court. The reconstruction started in August and is tentatively scheduled to be completed around the first week of October. We will keep you updated on when the courts at Lions Community Park will be open to the public.
